This form is not for private health or legal case details. Please don't include medical details, diagnoses, case numbers or similar private information. If something like that is sent anyway, it is deleted on the same schedule as everything else.
What the contact form collects
The message form on the contact page asks for your name, your email address, your message, how you'd like us to reply, and your phone number (optional, unless you ask us to call or text). Sending it emails those to the studio's inbox through Resend. It is kept for up to 12 months, then deleted, and is used only to reply to you. Please don't send medical details or private legal case details in it.
Why it's collected
- To reply to you, set up a call and write your quote.
- If you become a client, to plan and build your site. Your answers, including your notes, are turned into a written brief that guides the design and build. The brief may be shared with service providers that help deliver your project.
Your information is not sold, rented or used for advertising.
Where it goes
- When you send the form, your answers are emailed to the studio's inbox through Resend, an email delivery service.
- Screenshots are stored in private Vercel Blob storage. They are not public; links to them only work with a signature.
- A logo from your design sketch is shrunk in your browser and sent with your answers, attached to the same email. It is not stored anywhere else.
- A website design from the builder is stored in private Vercel Blob storage with its photos, and a copy is attached to the same email. Photos are shrunk in your browser before they are uploaded. Links to them only work with a signature.
- When you type an address or area, what you have typed so far is looked up through this site's server in Photon, a search service built on OpenStreetMap, to suggest matching places. Your IP address is not passed on.
- The search box finds answers on this site inside your browser, so what you type there stays on your device.
- Your bag (the packages, care plans and add-ons you pick to order) is saved only in your browser until you check out.
- When you pay online, you pay on a page run by Stripe, a payment company. Stripe collects your name, email address, phone number, business name, billing address and card or other payment details under its own privacy policy; this site never sees your card number. Stripe tells this site what was ordered, the amount, and the name, email, phone and business name you gave, which are emailed to the studio's inbox through Resend and kept in private Vercel Blob storage as an order record. If you then fill in the quote form, your order reference goes with it.
- The site is hosted on Vercel.
The website checkup
When you check a website on the website checkup page, its address is sent to Google's PageSpeed Insights test, which loads the page, scores it and takes a picture of it on a phone screen. This site also fetches the page once to read it. Nothing about the check is stored: not the address, not the results and not the picture.
To keep one visitor from running too many checks, your IP address and the times of your checks are held in the server's memory for a short while (the limit counts the last 10 minutes). They are not written to storage or logs, and they are gone when the server restarts.
How long it's kept
- Screenshots: deleted automatically 90 days after you send the form.
- Screenshots from a form you never sent: deleted automatically within 2 days.
- Your website design and its photos: deleted automatically 12 months after you send the form, unless you become a client. Photos from a design you never sent are deleted within 2 days.
- Your emailed request: kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. If you become a client, it is kept with your project records for as long as we work together.
- Your answers on your own device: the form saves your progress in your browser until you send it or choose "Start over". Nothing is sent until you press "Send my quote request".
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits, including scans of printed QR codes. It sets no cookies and does not track you across other sites, so there is no cookie banner.
What's stored in your browser
- Colors you paint with the paint bucket on the home page, until you press "Reset colors".
- Small display choices on the style previews.
- Your unfinished quote form, until you send it or start over.
- Your design sketch from the "Design your site" page, its logo, and the field you picked there, until you clear your browser's data for this site.
- Your website design from the builder, with its photos, until you clear your browser's data for this site.
- Your first name and reference number for the thank-you page, until you close the tab.
- A note that a QR code scan was already counted, and a note that plays the page transition, until you close the tab.
- When the search box takes you to another page, a note of the spot to show you, until that page opens.
You can clear all of this at any time in your browser settings.
Your choices
Email contact@shipshapesites.com to ask for a copy of what you sent, to correct it, or to have it deleted sooner.
